„Kitchen Stories” marks the beginning of a series of thematic editions within The Living Practice. As an opening gesture, we take a glimpse into the kitchen: a place historically shaped by both – necessity and intimacy, by labor and care. From the hearth as the center of early domestic life to the modern kitchen as a site of design, culture and exchange, it has long been a space where the private and the communal meet. Within this edition, the kitchen is approached not only as a functional environment, but as a living archive of gestures, memories and shared experiences. Ingredients, tools and objects become carriers of meaning, shaped by repetition and presence, by the quiet intelligence of the hand. We want to show a collection of pieces that encompass nourishment in its many forms – tactile, sensory and relational. Each piece reflects the act of preparation and the moment of gathering, revealing how cooking can become a language of care, a way of connecting body and mind, self and others. In a time where so much of our daily lives unfolds digitally, this also becomes a way of returning to the full use of our senses – to touch, taste, smell, and presence as forms of understanding. As the first chapter in an ongoing series, it opens a space for reflection on how we live, make and come together – and how, through these acts, we return to presence.
